The biggest and most valuable pitch competition in the UK and Ireland, Voom 2016, is calling for entrepreneurs to enter to win the chance to Pitch to Rich (that's Richard Branson), and get their hands on a share of £1 million in prizes.
Run by Virgin Media Business, the contest has 2 categories: Startup or Grow, depending on your business’ life-stage. The impressive prize packages, valued at more than £450,000 each and presented to each category winner, include:
- £50,000 in cash
- Visibility on JCDecaux’s Waterloo Motion for 2 weeks
- Bespoke financial advice
- Virgin Media Business broadband and telecoms package
- Social media and PR support
- Mentoring from VOOM Professional advisors and from Virgin
Runners up and special awards
There’ll be 4 runners-up who’ll receive prize packages worth £170,000. In addition, there are 3 special awards which entrants can choose to go for: The Crowdfunder Award and/ or The Impact Award and / or The Great Award. Those lucky enough to win the awards get prizes including a trip to Branson’s Necker Island and a place on his Leadership Gathering.
Who can enter?
Voom 2016 is open to businesses that are already established but growing, fledgling enterprises looking for a boost, and people with new ideas but need that push to launch. Entrants can be in the UK and Ireland, and must be over 18. Virgin Media Business claims:
Over 14 weeks, the competition will include a huge public vote and a 29-hour Pitchathon (a World-Record, we hope). It’ll all build up the Live Finale, in which six finalists will pitch to Richard Branson.Virgin Media Business
